Taste comes in many forms.
At Chambres d’Amis, we bring them together.
On the plate and beyond.

Exposition

At Chambres d’Amis, art forms part of the experience beyond the plate. Throughout the year, the restaurant invites artists to present work in the space. With a background in art history and as Artist in Residence at the KMSKA, chef Matthieu Beudaert selects projects that resonate with the restaurant and, at times, find subtle echoes on the plate.

The first collaboration is with the Panamarenko Foundation, which is dedicated to keeping Panamarenko’s artistic vision and legacy alive. Together with curator and Panamarenko expert Jo Coucke, the Foundation brings together a selection of works and personal objects by the artist, including pieces that have not been shown publicly for almost forty years. Among them is the work Panamarenko created for Jan Hoet’s legendary 1986 exhibition Chambres d’Amis, bringing a remarkable piece of Belgian art history back into view.

Beudaert’s own dialogue between art and food can also be discovered in his book Chef d’Oeuvre, created in collaboration with the KMSKA.
